"Lasik's has improved my overall life tremendously. It is funny that on occasion I still hesitate thinking I forgot my glasses. When I was in 4th grade I started wearing glasses. I promptly quit wearing them and by 9th grade was given hard contact lenses. As years went by I was not able to wear soft lenses at all due to my astigmatism. An enormous benefit of LASIK is to roll out of bed if I have to leave on a moment's notice. "My Lasik story is one that I hope inspires people who are somewhat skeptic and nervous at the same time. I had worn glasses all my life from the time I was just a little older the three years old. I was born with "Lazy Eye" and a very bad astigmatism. I can remember the frustration even as a little guy with the patching of my stronger eye trying to improve the weaker eye's condition, the "Coke Bottle" thick lenses and all the issues. In high school I can recount the difficulties playing sports and the issues with wearing glasses underneath my football helmet. Nonetheless, I was able to play at a high level given my limitations. I was always able to adjust pretty much to things but I hated to do anything in the water (water parks, water ski etc.) as I was blind as a bat without my glasses! I contacted your office and was immediately given an appointment for a complete evaluation. When I arrived at your office, all of the wonderful people greeted and treated me with the utmost courtesy and professionalism. My examination was very thoroughly done and comprehensive to say the least. The surgeon had to review all my findings for accuracy and final determination as to my candidacy. To my surprise I was contacted within a few days and told of my approval to go forward. My surgery occurred in January 2008, and at my check up I was seeing approx 20/20 minus a few in my left eye and about 20/25 in my left. Your surgeon's hands and skill have answered the prayers of a little boy since 1965. I wonder if he realizes that the day he decided to become a physician that his life's work would have impacted so many people in such a dramatic way! "I had been putting off Lasik for five years and just had every excuse in the book not to do it, but I always knew how much I hated wearing contacts and glasses. I made an appointment to see my regular eye doctor to see if everything was ok with my eyes and to check and see if I was a LASIK candidate. After both questions came back positive I spoke to the doctor about LASIK. The office seemed confused and not very knowledgeable about the surgery and gave me half answers. So, I dropped it and did not pursue anything else. Around February I noticed I was on my last pair of contacts and had to re-order a new pair.that when I said I am getting rid of these from now on and doing LASIK. I had heard the commercials on the radio station in the mornings and decided to make an appointment and see what they could offer. The office was convenient to my home and easy to get to from my downtown office. After the consultation I knew right away that this was a first class place and I would go with these guys. Not only did they know their stuff but they were organized and the price was competitive. I had the surgery in the spring of 2008 and have had great 20/20 vision since!
