Jim E. Montgomery, M.D.
Dr. Jim E. Montgomery is credentialed on multiple laser platforms at the highest level and has performed more than 8,000 refractive procedures since moving to Denver in 2001. He has been nominated for the "Best LASIK/Laser Center/LASIK Surgeon" category in the Boulder Camera's Best of Boulder County for three consecutive years.
Dr. Montgomery graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas in 1992. Following an internship in Internal Medicine at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Dr. Montgomery completed a three-year ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Hospital in 1996.
He became Board Certified in ophthalmology in 1998. Dr. Montgomery practiced ophthalmology in Austin, Texas in a multi-specialty group for four years where he refined his corneal, cataract, and refractive surgery skills. He also participated in FDA sponsored clinical and surgical trials for antibiotic drops, glaucoma drops, and intra-ocular lens implants.
Michael Peterson, O.D.
Dr. Michael Peterson is a graduate of the Southern California College of Optometry where he was a member of the international honorary Beta Sigma Kappa and received various scholarships. He enhanced his clinical skills while at the prestigious Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah, the Salt Lake VA Hospital, and the Eye Foundation of Utah.
Before becoming an optometrist, Dr. Peterson was a genetic researcher working with the human genome project. He recently moved to Portland from Idaho, where he specialized in LASIK co-management, glaucoma, and dry eye. He himself had LASIK recently to correct his high nearsightedness (myopia) and enjoys aiding others in seeing the same benefits he’s experienced.
He is a member of the American Optometric Association and its Cornea and Contact Lens Section. As a member of Rotary International, he’s participated in various community improvement activities and has helped execute a project in Ecuador to benefit school children.
