• Bladeless Flap Ziemer Femto LDV Laser: The greatest promise of LASIK surgery has always been that the use of computer-controlled lasers could make refinements in the cornea that could never be achieved by human hands. Until recently, however, there had been one point in the process that was still manual and still used a blade. At the beginning of the LASIK process, the only option for the surgeon was to use a microkeratome, a small speculate instrument, to create the flap in the cornea. Numerous studies show that laser-created flaps are smoother and more precise than flaps created with a microkeratome. This high-level precision in the flap creation means a safer procedure with increased accuracy for your visual outcome.
• Allegretto Wavelight Wave Eye-Q Laser: The WaveLight Allegretto is unique from other laser technologies because it is completely engineered upon Custom LASIK Technology. While older generation lasers have been modified over time to be able to perform Custom LASIK, the WaveLight Allegretto was specifically engineered for Custom LASIK. In fact, the very first Custom, or Wavefront-guided, treatment performed in the world was on a WaveLight laser.
