First, we numb the eye(s) to be treated with eye drops and gently hold open the lid to prevent blinking. An automated instrument called a microkeratome creates a tiny flap from the outer layers of the cornea.

The advanced excimer laser precisely reshapes the cornea beneath the flap. You experience virtually no discomfort and usually the procedure takes less than one minute.

The flap is then replaced and self-adheres within minutes. No stitches are required.
